The district wants to inform SVLSD parents that early this morning, we were made aware of an issue with a former student who now resides in another state and is currently missing.
As a result, and as a precaution for the safety of our students, we quickly verified all doors were secured, we distributed a picture of the former student to all staff, including bus drivers, alerted building SRO officers, as well as notified law enforcement offices.
There is no imminent threat to students and staff. This notice is to make parents aware of the steps the district is taking in response to this issue.

This afternoon one of the buses in our fleet was involved in an accident. The parent of the one child on board was immediately notified and no injuries occurred.

Due to the passing of Scioto Valley staff member Clyde Rodgers, in honor of him, school will be closed on Wednesday, December 3rd so that staff members can attend his funeral.
This is to inform parents and staff that on Tuesday, November 25th, schools will be dismissing early. The high school will dismiss at approximately noon and Jasper will dismiss at approximately 12:15.
This morning at approximately 7:50 AM, one of the buses in our fleet was involved in an accident through no fault of our bus driver. Parents of the passengers were immediately notified. No damage was done to the bus and all passengers were unharmed and have been delivered safely to school. Thank you, Mrs. Lamerson.
Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to be transparent, we want to inform the community that a social media threat was made on October 9 concerning the October 14 Scioto Valley Local School Board Meeting including bringing firearms to the meeting.
Even though there were no threats made to students, we take all threats seriously. The Piketon Police Department and Pike County Prosecutor’s Office have been notified and are investigating.
