School will be closed tomorrow, Friday, April 26th due to a scheduled power outage in the morning. The National Honor Society induction will still proceed as planned as power will be back on before the time of the ceremony.

To parents, staff, students and the public at large, I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Scioto Valley Local School District to address a rumor. According to the rumor, a student brought a gun to school and was arrested by local law enforcement. There is absolutely no truth to either rumor! We focus every day on providing a safe learning environment for our students and staff. Any potential threats made with respect to school safety are immediately and aggressively investigated. Madison Plains Power Lifting Meet: Piketon did a great job at their first powerlifting meet of the season Piketon had three students who broke meet records in deadlift! Congratulations to Brooklynn, Drake and Alyssa! The Girls Power Lifting team placed 3rd Overall. The Boys Power Lifting team placed 5th Overall. Congratulations to all of our Redstreak Powerlifters!!!

Tomorrow, Friday, October 20th, Jasper Elementary will be closed. This will affect bus arrival times in the morning and afternoon for high school students.

On Wednesday, September 20th, School will be dismissing early. The High School will dismiss at Noon and Jasper will dismiss at approximately 12:20.

Student individual pictures for grades 5 through 7 will be taken on September 6th. Grades 8 through 11 will be taken on September 7th. Picture packets went home today with students.
