Description of Skills Taught:
This course is designed to investigate British culture and literature through analysis of various literary movements. Students will learn to deconstruct what they read and write, research effectively, make connections between literature and the world around them, understand literary technique, and use such skills in their own writing, whether for informative, persuasive, or narrative purposes. Students will be required to create research papers, speeches, power point presentations, and creative writing pieces. Be prepared to write frequently and to verbally present work. Ultimately, this course is designed to help prepare for your life after high school by honing and developing your critical thinking and analytical skills. We will also create resumes, scholarship letters, and discuss how to prepare for an interview.
